However, this is an area of active regulatory change: since early 2026, Bali's provincial government has pushed to restrict PT PMA use of virtual office addresses for certain lower-risk business classifications (KBLI codes), with at least one classification already closed to virtual-office-based registration in Bali specifically at the national level, and a broader province-wide restriction still under review. This does not cancel existing companies' licenses, and virtual offices remain a standard, fully valid option for PT PMA registered in Jakarta and most other provinces — but if your intended KBLI classification isn't finalized yet, confirm the current Bali-specific rules with a licensed corporate services provider before committing to a Bali-registered address.

Beyond the legal structure, practical considerations matter too: reliable mail handling for official correspondence, a local phone number for banking and government interactions, and access to a proper meeting room when local partners or government liaisons need to be received in person.
